Reconhecer is a Portuguese word meaning to recognize.
In this piece, each face is clearly distinct from the other two. They represent the parts of you that you have already recognized, even though several more remain to be discovered. No two faces are quite alike. To recognize a face is to take it as it is. Not as you wish it were. You first decide to stop fleeing it. You begin by observing it. You understand its message. You learn to recognize its patterns, without judging them. You accept it as part of you, with love and kindness toward yourself, especially when part of you dislikes what it sees. You may then choose to act differently, if you wish, and let it evolve. But above all, you speak to it with love, because it is you, and the only language your whole being deeply understands is the language of patient, gentle love.
One face might carry the name of the wound born when you were ten. Another, the lack of affection accumulated through your youth. Another still carries the name of the determination forged in trials you had to overcome alone. Another, the frustration born of everything you had to silence. Another, the clumsiness inherited from your first hesitant steps toward yourself. Another, the confidence regained by learning, again and again, never quite finished discovering yourself. And one last, joy, the one that survived everything else, patient, simply waiting to finally be let shine.
Names among many others, still waiting to be found, somewhere, in what you already carry. Somewhere within you, faces are waiting to be recognized this way. Named. Welcomed. Loved.

What you thought was one
was a thousand threads, tightly woven.
Slow down.
Every thread has a name.
A red line runs through it all.
It is voice. It is the way.
It connects.
Look again.
This face is changing,
as you change,
within.
Xi 习 is a Chinese character meaning habit.
What repeats until it becomes a second nature, invisible from having been lived so long. You no longer notice the patterns that make you up. They have been there so long, laid one over another, that you have stopped seeing them. Your face, as you know it, seems no more than a single surface, a single color, a single familiar outline. Slow down. Look closer. What you took for one shade separates, pattern after pattern, under a patient gaze. Anger leaves a thread with a harder edge, a drier tone, the timbre of a voice that no longer quite recognizes itself, and a gaze that sees, for a while, nothing but what wounded it. Joy leaves a lighter thread, a voice that rises more easily, a gaze that lingers on what shines, on what pleases, without looking further. Fear leaves a taut thread, a breath grown shorter, a gaze that sweeps everything, searching everywhere for where the danger might come from. Each carries its own texture, its own way of holding the light. None has ever quite faded beneath the ones that followed. They are all still there, layered, forming this face you thought was simple.
A quiet red line runs through all of it: it is the way of love, present within every version of you, reaching and being understood by all of them at once. It is also its voice, the one that moves through your thoughts, through your words. This face, then, is never fully fixed. It keeps weaving itself, thread after thread, according to what you choose to feed inside yourself. Every new belief, every new emotion you let settle, adds one more pattern to the weave. What you see today is only a single moment of that weaving, never its last word.

There is a path
where you dissolve into many.
There is another
where you gather into one.
Neither is more true than the other.
They have never stopped coexisting.
But to reach the One that gathers,
you must first
have crossed the one that dissolves.
You never find your One
without first
having passed through all your many.
What you call your unity
is not the absence of your complexity.
It is your complexity, dancing, at last,
to a single language: LOVE.
Eheys, in Finnish, means integrity, wholeness.
Being complete, intact, in harmony with oneself. A single face looks at you now. Calm. Whole. Eyes wide open, facing forward, with nothing left to flee or hide from yourself. This is your most authentic version. The one you find again once you finally stop rejecting yourself. You recognized yourself, piece by piece, step by step. You welcomed each one. Loved each one.
And here is what remains, once that work is done: a single presence leading the way, surrounded by love, speaking love itself, in every line of her face. By choosing to trust yourself, and to give love to each of your versions, you came to understand the depth of that language.
For the harmony and alignment you seek within and around you only become possible after this work. It is by listening to each part of yourself, and learning to give love to each one, that you understand the message it carries, and that you realign. This realigned version is your true self.
You now continue your dance with the world, in a new rhythm, truer, more aligned, and the world keeps answering you with that same gentleness. This is how multiplicity becomes One. Not because the other versions disappeared, but because they finally stopped fighting one another: they are now seen, loved, accepted. Each still remains, somewhere, ready to resurface one day in another light. But for now, they hold together, quiet, in one body, one gaze, connected by a single thing: love.
You now speak to yourself with kindness, gentleness, trust, and you grant yourself the patience it takes. This is what it means to be One.

MULTIPLICITY OF ONE THE COLLECTION
Multiplicity of One is a digital art collection created in 2026 by Kerilys, exploring consciousness, identity, and belief systems. Created through the juxtaposition of images and videos brought into motion, using a range of tools and platforms, it follows a single person through their journey of self-recognition, each face set against a distinct backdrop, like so many inner worlds traversed.
Three central works, made public, each trace a stage of this journey through a facial-portrait animation:

The collection includes several other works, which remain private and viewable only by contacting the artist directly.
For the titles of these works, Kerilys deliberately draws on several languages, because this journey of self-recognition is universal, and no single language could carry all its nuances.
Each work invites the viewer to undertake their own inner journey, through descriptive texts, poems, and simple accompanying exercises. Kerilys draws on a range of tools, including geometry and science, to illuminate, differently, what it means to exist and become whole. At the heart of this path, love remains the guiding thread: the one language the self understands at its deepest, and through which multiplicity, at last, gathers into One.
